We’ve already discussed how a woman’s worth is not compromised by the concepts of subordination and helping or service. So the question often emerges, “In what way, in which places, does God require women to dwell and bring glory to Him, and what are the limits to her sphere of influence.” We will see in the next several chapters, that God has given women a tremendous amount of freedom and opportunity. This is true of many situations for all people. An easy example is children in the home. A child has immeasurable worth, and God in his wisdom has provided the perfect situation for that child to grow, produce, serve, love and be loved. And that place is the family. A woman likewise, but in a separate unique way, has multiple opportunities and options to experience joy, growth, love, and accomplishment, and God has placed some boundaries for our good and for His glory.

A recurring theme in 1 Corinthians is that of the limits of our liberty in Christ. Unfortunately, the church in Corinth was in error in many areas.
